Samhain Ritual & Kitties

Okay, so me and Grimwell had our ritual this night... candles, meditations, and a strengthening of ourselves.

However, just at the end, Our Kitty, Minkers(who had been hanging around for the entire ritual), walked between me and the table that our candles were on and then managed to set his tail aflame!

Minkers is okay, the flame did nothing more than singe a bit of his fur... If it reached his actual tail, it didn't do any actual damage.

But I'm left wondering about the mystical part of this. What does it mean, when you're having a ritual devoted to tieing off loose ends, rebuilding strength and "harvesting" your ideas, and your dark grey cat burns himself on one of the flames?!

I'm just not quite certain if this was a message and if so for whom? It was "my" flame, so probally me(I was the one who put out the flame before kitty was actually hurt), but I'm just not certain what the message was... Beyond Kitties are very flamable things!

Your ideas in this matter are apprieciated!

Ah kitties love sacred space ^_^ and yes, are flammable! And when kitties are so caught up in love and in the sacred, not watching their steps, they may get singed O_O I accidentally singed my friend's dog who jumped up to see me unexpected when I was playing with Fire Poi. Well to me the tail represents the root chakra, the primal, dexterity, and balance. The root chakra also represents fire to me, because this is the seat of the Kundalini, which can feel like fire, and also the colour of this chakra is red. The one above represents water. Interesting, the fire and water. Perhaps the root chakra is blazing too brightly

See, I'm not still not certian if he likes Sacred Space or is trying to get us out it.

He does the same thing during rituals as he does when I'm doing Reiki... Tries to Meow loud enough to take me out of my thoughts and back to the real world.

To me it seems as though he hates it when we raise energy, I think the only reason he stays near is be certain that we stay safe...

Well, seeing things from a cat's perspective (or one of MY cats' perspective anyway) he probably thought you'd make better use of your time raising your energy to focus it on him, lol. Most cats seem to have an "it's all about me...ALL the time" sort of attitude. Or at least all the cats I've ever owned have. So from that aspect I could say he probably wanted to catch your attention a bit, which would explain why he meows while you're doing reiki. Hell, if I give my mom a massage, her cat will jump up on the table and lay on her, and the same goes for me getting a massage as well.

I would tend to agree with Morgana. Mayhap, you need to sit your kitty down, give him some reiki, and at the same time, have a little chat about why he can't always be the one to be on the receiving end of all those wonderful energies. Sometimes helps, but then, with cats, you never know if they'll listen or not.
