Was Jesus a witch?

I cam across a not so interesting website but reading this passage from the bible I noticed something

"Deuteronomy 18:10 -11-12 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee."

Didn't Jesus converse with Demons while casting them out? Didn't he prophescy and tell the future? Didn't he fast in the desert to commuicate with Satan, a spirit?
I know I am stretching this a bit and it is only two examples but that was enough to make me think that sometimes the line between right and wrong isn't always as definite as we think.
But he was god somaybe that is why he got away with it? Who knows.

Jesus wasn't a Witch, and how DARE they call him as such.

In the bible it does clearly state that he is the Son of God, not the daughter of God.

That being said he is more likely to be a Warlock, or something similiar.

Please don't pick on Jesus's gender, I'm sure he doesn't like it very much.

Actually a lot of people think that Jesus was a Druid, or taught by the druids.
He did a lot of "miracles", healing, divination, and other such magicks which are very familiar with us.

I agree that this site is pretty silly, but as with anything, there are always some good points. As confused as these people may be, here a few things that they nail from their witchcraft page:

Come on now. They just backed up Karma with a bible quote. Are they confused? Yes. Entirely bad? No. Of course, the reason most of us don't harm others is not because of karma, but because it's wrong.

What would the point of being moral be if we just did it to save our own little hides? Wouldn't be much to morality in that case.

Of course each person tries to avoid doing wrong -- in terms of how that individual sees it. It is also true that there seem to be wrongs that most people in the world agree on. But then things get a bit fuzzy -- millions of people support various wars, even though they have a set moral against killing -- or say, support aggressive Capitalism even though they themselves would never think they oppress poor people or steal...

The idea of right and wrong seems to be a flexible one. And combined with the human talents for rationalizing and going into denial seems sometimes to be a very flimsy shield indeed. I suppose this is one of the reasons the Bible-thumpers go back to the "Word". It gives them a modicum of balance on a very choppy sea.

I agree with you though, that most people -- at least in Western culture don't sit down every time they are about to act and ask, "Now -- is this going to bring me bad Karma?"

This is starting to sound like my karma topic in the ethics section, hehe.

I see our belief in karma as a guide to good behaviour. When you're learning right from wrong, you will stop to consider what kind of karma an action will bring. Of course, there comes a point where you do things by instinct and out of habit. However, you need training wheels before you can ride a bike. You don't just wake up one morning and instantly turn into the best pagan there is. It's something that develops. The way it develops is by operant conditioning (woohoo, psychology!) and associating certain actions with either good or bad karma. Furthermore, I think that your belief in karma continues to be a factor in your decision making even when you don't consider it consciously. I think the thought processes that occur consciously when we're conditioning ourselves to proper behaviour still occur later, except they occur unconsciously.
