Saddam Hussein has killed many "Americans" and many of his own people. Now that he is cought they just want to kill him! I think he should be tortured and kept in a room by himself for the rest of his life. What do you think?

I won't vote on this one... Personally, i think Death would be the worst for him. If he is contained alive, he has all the freedoms he will ever need, and the posibility of getting free. Just because you are stuck in a room does not mean you are contained.

He's a muslim, kill him and he'll be immortalized.. leave him alive and every islamic extreamist will be taking hostages trying to get him released.. double edged sword if you ask me...

Psht....It's not like weather sadam is dead or alive is gonna change islamic extremist brutality. For people to care about him they would have to love him, not fear him.

And now the spider monkey has lots of dead people on his hands, american and iraqi's alike. Hope he's happy with his new capture...

Just let him face trial and whatever they decide to do with him shall be justice enough and if its not we all know what goes around comes around and the powers that be out there make sure of it.

Other political issue beside Muslim extremists... We are one of few industrialzed nations that practice the death penalty..How much do we want to alienate Europe? I was just in the UK and the average person I met there was horrified by the death penalty..one of the first things I was asked about by anyone who found out I was an American. Violating treaties regarding torture would be worse. We are on some thin ice diplomatically anyway (we are moving into the respect only out of fear category in a lot of minds.) Do we want to try to be acceptible to our allies?

Personally, I'm not for the death penalty, nor am I for abortion, however I am pro sterilization of many, especially those who pop out addicted babies and/or who have several by different males (not real men) and don't or can't take care of them, or who would strap a bomb to them or let them starve to death, or who would allow an adult male with AIDS to have sex with their young virgin daughters, in hopes of curing his AIDS (as is frequently happening in Africa; even to infants and toddlers), or who, like many Cambodian mothers, allow their 6 year olds to be used for sex for $30/night and have their teenage sons do the pimping. Yes, these sorts I would sterilize instantly, but not kill.

As far as torturing goes, if a known Al Qaeda operative was caught, I would have no problem if he were tortured for information that would lead to the downfall of a terrorist attack.

We can try to be acceptible to our allies, but we must always keep in mind how much of their dirty work we have done, especially France, as in Vietnam and WWII, and they still hate us! I believe it's an ego thing with them. With others, if they are rogue nations, fearing us is a good thing. Europe has been plagued with terrorist attacks for many years, maybe if they would have done something bold at the time, the terror cells would not have been able to multiply. Still holds true here. Either kill him or do something to nuetralize him. Personally, I say brainwash the dude hard core, then release his @$$ in a public place, say downtown kuwait, and let nature take it's course one way or another.

I'm half and half on this one. I think Saddam being killed would give a lot of Kurds, and other people who had family members killed because of him or were tortured by him, closure. But then again I really think that would be letting him off easy. I mean the guy killed people brutally without any compassion and we should give him a nice injection that will put him to sleep? Nope not fair. If we were to kill him (this is so evil but I really feel this way) It should be slow and painful(and video taped). Either that or he should be kept in a cell with a gigantic homosexual Kurd that has a fetish for ugly guys with beards. That would fix the jerk.

That last part.... ewwwwwwwwwww... although, you have a valid point. The only downside is the potential for him to become a martyr to those folks who are still behind him.

I have no problem punishing those who have earned it, and gods above and below know this schmuck has earned it. The real question is "What punishment is appropriate and will do the most good over the long run?".

Time to bring back the wicker men! That would set a lot of peoples minds at ease. Of course they'd have to throw in some of his doubles to even things out.....or turn him over to the women. Naw...that's be cruel. Better the wicker man.

He should be cleaned up,

fed,

housed,

and made healthy and whole.

And reminded everyday that when Iraq has a government of the people, he'll be returned to them to stand trial.

This way the Islamic world will deal with it's own, and he will receive justice from the people he was supposed to protect.
