Is there some massive online collection of rituals/spells? I checked out the reading room, but I'm currently looking for a solitary ritual for giving thanks to the gods for my firstish harvest of the year. Hmmmmm. I guess I should be original and just do my own, but it's always nice to have something to go off!

You can search online for little spells, but for reference About.com is fun. Patty offers some rituals and many beautiful articles.

How about making an offering of little breads and cakes and planting them around your area as a show of thanks? Something that would be healthy for animals and humans alike to eat. Because Nature and the Gods are so closely intertwined, an offering that helps and supports Nature is always a good idea, and it also helps in opening up communication to the Animal world. However, that is largely my way. When I am showing thanks to someone, or show my love, I make them food. That's just the way that I am. How do you show the ones you love that you care, or give them thanks? Can this be adapted in a meaningful way to show your appreciation and love for your deities?

Edit to add: Here is an interesting ritual. Note of caution: She says to annoint with the blessing oil. Oils can burn, are rarely meant to be used on the skin in such a strong mix, and never should be placed on the eyes. You can opt out of the eyes part, do it symbolically (i.e. annoint your eyes on the higher levels of your body, a few inches away from your eyes), or use a tea or water you have blessed/consecrated instead.

This is more of a dedication ritual than a thanking ritual, but this can be adjusted to fit your needs.

Thanks for the info! I am a foody too. I wanted to particularly note my thanks for the tomatoes and herbs that flourished this year as I moved, so it's an all new garden. You never know what will do well in new places. I have a nice recipe for an herb bread that would work well for an offering too. Some of my tomatoes were unfortunately eaten and I just found the culprit today - a groundhog! I've since learned to pick them a little unripe and ripen them inside :)

I don't know if you've thought of this, but you might want to give a gift to the Fairies that may have helped with the garden.

Personally, I found that nature sprites and fairies like shiny things...so I tend to put hanging decorations outside that can't be easily broken for them to enjoy. I have a crystal prism on a length of copper wire in the front for the rosebush's guardians to enjoy...and a pendant I made myself from wire out back.

As little girl-y as it sounds, I do believe in Fairies and I do think they help tend our plants with us.

Just a thought for you.
You say "Witch" like it's a bad thing!
