Banned Books: Harry Potter series

Post by Librarian » Sun Oct 03, 2010 9:29 am

I have to agree with writer wholeheartedly. This series is amazing for inspiring kids of all ages to read.
As the single most banned book series in the last decade, Harry Potter has met more opposition than any other book in America. Some complain of its “witchcraft,” but the real danger of the book is when it’s ripped from the hands of those who’d be inspired by its powerful message of friendship, devotion, and the ultimate battle against evil.

Actually, last week was Banned Book Awareness Week.

Personally, I can't stand the idea of people banning books or burning them. Simply because you don't agree with the ideas presented in it, doesn't give people the right to try to restrict or destroy that idea. :axe:
