Greetings and all that Jazz
Greetings people, I'm Alyn (naturally, as it is my screen name). I also happen to be Jescissa's boyfriend.
OK, I'll be honest, I'm no Pagan, however, I am doing a project for my Geography degree on Indigenous Land Rights in British Columbia and I'm really struggling a bit to get going.
Jess tells me there's some people on here who are pretty up on the issue and I was hoping maybe you could point me in the direction of some accademic refferences?
Thank you everyone and Hello.
Alyn

Sorry there, but I gotta agree with forgotten... I don't know about those issues in depth as I've been way too burried in corporate issues and laws lately, on top of all the IT items and development that are the norms for a CIO. I can say that I love B.C. and think it's one of the most beautifual areas of this continent though.

You could have a look in the News & Politics section and see if there is an old thread on that subject, we seem to cover all kinds of things there

Hello some more specific information on what you need would help
ASs well, just FYI, look at the North American GravesProtectiona nd repatiration acts (NAGPRA)
Also, it is a tricky subject, Prior to the goverment claiming that sacred land would be protected, there was not really any sacred Indian Land (It was all sacred).
Pick a specific people? Time frame or Region and I might be of more help.
Good luck

Hello and thank you everyone.
Thankyou Willow. My field reserach will take place in Tofino on Vancouver island. I'm still in the very early stages of my research and just getting past the history of the Douglas Treaties and am looking for things which are more contemporary.
Thank you so much for your help so far and thankyou in advance for any help you may give me in the future.

Hi Willow
Alyn set off for Vancouver this morning and won't have access to the internet straightaway, so if you have any suggestions let me know and I'll get them to him through other means
If you've got no ideas, it's not a problem, but thanks for lending a hand
