Scary smart cat.

Post by Kystar » Wed Jan 12, 2011 7:58 pm

OMG, I have a terribly smart cat. backoff: backoff:

I just got my index finger scratched b/c my cat did the math.

Shiny taunting red light + thingy in mom's hand that moves with light = get thingy, kill light

Has anyone ELSE had their pet outsmart their game like this?

Oui, a lot of cats will figure it out eventually if you don't actually hide the laser pointer and they see it enough when the beam is close. Remember, many cats have a mesured intellect of a toddler. But oui, it means yours is definitely one of the brighter ones 8-) :-D

I've got a Maine Coon that has figured out where the light comes from and pretty well refuses to chase the dot anymore. backoff:

I think that's Noche's current attitude.

My cat knows how to open doors... he just can't.

You can see him pawing feverishly at the door knob and I can almost see the frustration on his face: "WHY DON'T I HAVE APPOSABLE THUMBS?"

Our cat Minkers has opened up doors. He figured out that if he hooks his claws in he can pull over/down the door handle. He can't always do it. He really has to work on the hooking his claws into the joints between them.

Both our cats know where the light comes from... but both of them still love chasing it. Minkers has said that its just fun to be running around, even if he knows the light isn't an enemy.
