Hope you all have a wonderful Solstice.

We're about to head off for our normal Christmas break travels to see the families very early tomorrow morning, so in case I don't see you all until the new year, have a very safe holiday season, and a very blessed one too. Much love to you all >:D<

I imagine Merry involves some moderate enjoyment of fermented beverages? Also some feasting. And a gathering of family and friends?

Hope it was a Merry holiday for everybody!

Of COURSE!

Although, as far as I am concerned "the gathering of family and friends" is something to be avoided at ALL costs.

Don't get me started on that Ragnar... my 26 year old brother avoided seeing me because he would have had to see my Father at the same time. My Mother (they are divorced) has asked me to "talk to my father and get him to prove he loves you guys".

Honestly, I realize I'm the only one who still talks to him, but really 26 yrs old is more than old enough to act like an adult and deal with somebody even if you think you'll end up in a yelling match with them.

If you're family is screwy or non-existent, at least you have your family(ies) by choice. I enjoyed spending Yule here with Draconia, Mael and the kids and their family. More satisfying than the bs I went through as a kid and most of what I've experienced since. Also meant I got to play with the newest grandbebe even more, heh heh.

It can be screwed up, but remember the meaning of the season, not even the more modern ones, but the old ones. Come together, appreciate what you have, where you are and celebrate you still being alive for the return of the light. People get too caught up in drama and feuds and materialism during this time of year. I've had more fun on very poor holidays spent with good, pagan friends than at my richest when spending it with rich snobs or anything in between.

Je regrette, I'll get off the sick person soap box after I say this. Blow off the bs and enjoy these times with those who are pleasant to spend it with. There is little else of a similar value and at times, it really does help remind you of what real wealth is and where it is to be found.

Wassail y'all and happy new year outtahere:

Hmm. Managed to "escape". But now feel right guilty. But really, I have NO desire to sit watching Andrea Rieuh (sp?) and his amzing farting penguins when every one else is PARTYING(!!!!).

That's why you spend it with your chosen family sometimes, lol. Cause I totally agree about sitting around the whole time watching crap like that to be the last thing I want to do. Spending time together is a two way street, non?
