What can I say CHL? I mean, people here in Calgary (most notably, Grimwell) call him Uncle Ragnar.

It was catchy, and seemed perfect. Mind you, I never thought that me using it would eventually have others using it. ;)

Keep us updated! [-o< [-o<

Note: edited to say updated, not undated! #-o

I got in touch with the relevant department. My "case worker" there said I am not entitled to a REHA (Rehabilitation) grant....she doesn't think. #-o

Because my disability percentage is "only" 40%. If it was 50% NO problem....maybe". I repeat #-o

So I have an interview with her on the 15the to thrash it out.

The MOST bemusing thing is that the woman at the printing place said they were not interested in the "disability percentage" and most of the people there did not even know if the HAD one.

All they had was a Medical report from the Government doctor saying they were not capable of carrying out their "normal" job.

I have that with those EXACT words. But the stupid cow seems to be ignoring the fact.

Good luck with that. I sometimes think that Beaurocracy was put on this earth for the sole purpose of teaching us patience. Or weeding out the psychopaths.

Anyway, I hope it goes your way!

Willow: weeding out psychopaths? or CREATING them?

Ragnar: good luck with that situation, sounds like they're trying to give ya the runaround! Hope you get it worked out though! [-o<

Red tape makes everyone go bonkers, it's a fact of life. I'm really hoping you get the gig, Ragnar!

Aye. Again thanks all 8-) .

It all hinges on this REHA thing.

I found out yesterday that most of the people there are there for the likes of anxiety attacks. Apparantly it is easier to get a REHA for that, than if you ONLY happen to have one leg and half a head.

PHYSICAL dissability seems not to interest these REHA types! :smt017

So....:-k

Well, I am reading up on the symptoms right away.

I have also contacted my H.Q, who have said I have enough sea time in to be able to stay in the Navy reserve, doing just the collating job, A job that, when the Government have worked on my net connection, to secure it to their standards, I can do some of from home! And go to sea when I am fit enough inbetween. 8-)

So the Navy medic is willing to write a report saying whatever happens with the dissability grade, they have a place that I can fill. :-D

That's great news, Ragnar!

It's good to know that the service will still come through for you. I got run out of the Army just for having a bad ankle. Not that I'm complaining. At the time, it was the absolute best thing that could have happened.

Many blessings on the red tape and paperwork.

Or "hobbled" out in your case? :-D (Sorry. Could not resist that. )

The good thing with the navy is, so long as you fit in so much sea time to keep your qualification, then the rest of my time is spent behind a computer, on a shore base, OR on a....hmmm... "observation" ship.

I can do my sea time during winter, when I do not normally have much problem with gout. Plus there is plenty to choose from, as most try and get their obligation in during the summer.

FINALY, the Woman in charge of these REHA things, has agreed to let me go for a medical, with a view to assesing my chances of said REHA funding.

I REALLY enjoyed pointing out that, THAT was EXACTLY what the same doctor she is now sending me to reccomended in 2004/5!!! :-? :P

Two years wasted? Hay, who cares?

Two years....That is like light speed in the Canadian miltary.

But good, I am glad things are somewhat in motion.

Gotta love administrative BS. If things work the way they did for me though, hopefully you'll see fast action once the wheels start going.

It took many months of sitting on my hands before I finally got a green light, and then I got my release orders less than two months later. It was such a great feeling.

Good luck with the doctor!

And aye... hobbled out was certainly my case. Although I had about 90% mobility back by the time the ink dried on my orders.
