A didgeridoo is an Australian musical instrument. Think of all the movies in Australia you have seen. What is usually playing in the background? This long, hypnotic rhythmic sound sort of like a frog croaking, ci? That's it.
And Grumpy, madam! You are back!

Ooooohhhh. I see. I was picturing a medium size marsupial of some sort dropping on his head from a tree, having mistaken him for food. How disappointing. (Visions of Jingo)

Thanks for noticing, though! I feel special. lol

But it's more than that.
It is a SACRED musical instrument. Used in the same way as a Shaman's drum.
And that was the point of my original post. A point which everyone did not get (probably it was too obscure):
That killing was the Pagan Gods (represented by the Digeridoo) combining with the Christian God (represented by the Xtian Fundie) to kill an Atheist.....

Me too, only it's Tyr, Heimdallr and dear Terry.Grumpy wrote:MAY be? MAY? I keep one altar to Hekate and one to the Almighty Pratchett! Long may the great and amusing TP live.
By the way, my Wife says it is "Lost continent" Not Jingo. And she has read them all about 100 times LITERALY.

AYE, IT MUST HAVE BEEN. Rincewind was not in Jingo, and it was Rincewind that got told about the drop bears. I will read it again tomorow.

Arrogant as I am, I could be wrong. I lost my entire first edition TP collection in a certain hurricane recently, so I couldn't look it up before striking my pose, darnit. Don't the Euro and Amer versions sometimes have different titles? I thought Jingo was the thinly veiled Aussie one. Or was it the Chinese or Atlantis one? Aargh. I know I didn't have anything that was titled "Lost Continent".

Rain ForestMoon, it is a fantastic intrument and I'm aware of it's use in trance-work among Shamans. (Big smile here, none of that angry, "I'm AWARE of that..." It is one of my favourite things to listen to and it works incredibly well to draw you into a trance state
I have this fantastic image in my mind right now of darkness broken by a small fire and an old man in tribal wear playing the didgeridoo. Ahhhh, that cut my bad mood nicely.)
I get the idea you were trying to put across, but I'm not touching this argument: "Is it funny is it crude" with a 10-foot pole
