I voted no, as only certain people know I am wiccan. Those on a few message boards I visit and a few people I work with. My wife I think knows, but I have not exactly told her, and none of my family knows. I hope to come out some day, but right now, most I know are those who call any pagan religion satanism. The funny thing is, I don't even believe in satan. He was created by christians to make children go to bed on time and do homework. :)

Sometimes messages are better conveyed through music; so here's a closet pagan blues tune about me for you straight form Memphis, Home of the Blues:

8) Closet Pagan Blues 8)

I think I'm a pagan... da-Da-da-duh

But I live in the South... da-Da-da-duh

I'm afraid of the Baptists .... da-Da-da-duh

So I'll just shut my mouuuth....

I'm a closet paaaaa-gan...

Lowercase P... A... G-A-N,

(and I'll say it again....)

I'm a closet paaagan...

Lowercase P... A...G-A-N.

da-Da-da-duh

da-Da-da-duh

Oh Halloween's comin'....da-Da-da-duh

All the kids come to knock....da-Da-da-duh

but what they don't know is...da-Da-da-duh

there's a reeeal live witch on the block....

I'm a closet paaaaa-gan...

Lowercase P... A... G-A-N,

(and I'll say it again....)

I'm a closet paaagan...

Lowercase P... A....G-A-N.

da-Da-da-duh

da-Da-da-duh

I must celebrate Christmas ....da-Da-da-duh

Or they'll know about me...da-Da-da-duh

But they don't know the meaning...da-Da-da-duh

Of the star on my Yuletide tree....

I'm a closet paaagan...

Lowercase P...A....G-A-N

(and I'll say it again....)

I'm a closet paaagan...

Lowercase P... A... G-A-N

da-Da-da-duh

heh heh heh, cute Jen. I know how you feel. It was 4 years until I was mostly out of the closet and another 2 until I was totally out.

I may never come out. I've actually always played may cards close to the vest when it comes to spiritual beliefs, even when I I didn't perceive it was going to cause friction. It's just the way my family did things. I mean I've had discussions with close friends and family, but in general, I feel it's private. It's why I don't really like attending "church" (we actually have a papgan church here) and why it grates on me so when someone I don't even know comes banging on my door at 8:00 AM to enlighten me.

Jen

I may have to rethink that church thing though. My daughter is beginning to ask about it. We used to attend a Unitarian Universalist Church near our old neighborhood, and there's another one sort of close to us out here, so I may check that out. I think taking her to the pagan church would cause lots of problems.

I'm more out than I used to be. I told my friend who is muslim. She and I both believe that it's okay to believe what you want, just as long as you don't push it onto other people.

And there are a couple of coworkers who know now, aside from the aforementioned coworkers. It came about when one girl was singing a christian song and we got on the discussion of religion between me, her and another guy. I said i prefered not to tell what my religion was, and they asked if it was a secret religion. I told them no and said I just prefer not to say. As many of you know I'm not totally open about it, and I work in a craft store with many many christians. I was working on the DMC floss at the time, and the red one I picked up was 666. And I said so. It turned out that the guy knows enough about paganism and guessed I was wiccan. So i finally told them, and the guy didn't have to be told what it is, but I had to explain to the girl what it is. I'm not sure that she likes me anymore. but too bad. If she really believes that christianity is so good, she should show it through her actions.

Yep, wbds, it is. And we get 25% off our entire regular priced purchase. And for associate appreciation week, we get 50% off. It's so cool. But I only get paid seven dollars an hour, and it goes only towards my tuition. That's why I hate school.

Fyre---

I had federal loans pay for my tuition. Those are gonna start coming due pretty soon.... But i had to pay for rent and food and bus ride to and from school and work and i was so poor back then it wasn't funny. I slipped into depression and my school work started to fail miserably. I only made $7 then too and i didn't have any money for craft stuff which probably would of made me happier. But everything always turns out ok, now i am in KY where the cost of living is cheaper and i make more than $7/hour. It feels like a lot now but thats because i live with firelords parents but they are trying to sell the farm and then we are gonna have tons of bills when we get our own place.

But crafts are great!

and so are books runewolf, i could spend the whole day in a book store.

and computers/internet is great too. These are my 3 favorite things. *lol*

I live at home with my parents, and they are paying for the housing type stuff and the cost of books. I pay for tuition and my 200 dollar car insurance, but that's for six months. Gotta love old cars. And I walk to school, just have the car for work and a few erands now and then. So I'm doing what I can to keep the costs down and the income up.

i couldnt imagine walking anywhere... *Lol* I am so lazy and i love my car even tho its really expensive. I had to have a 99 dark green 4 door honday accord with sunroof, cd player and leather interior. *lol* I love my car and i enjoy taking care of it, whether its an oil change or just vacuuming it out.

And i couldn't imagine paying for tuition myself, its ssooo expensive. I liked having federal loans. You are great strong person to do things yourself and admire that Fyre.

It takes me about forty minutes to get to school. but I've learned it's a great way of staying in shape. During high school I gained a lot of weight and the first year of college I easily lost twenty pounds. I gained some back this summer, and am working it off again. So there are more benifits to it. Plus being out in nature and listening to my favorite music, when my cd player works. :-?

well, i have a strange thing going on.... At the moment i keep it from my parents and anyone that might get on my case, (living in Utah i don't know how the mormons would react) but my sister knows, and a few of my friends know. in fact one of them showed me what it was, but now regrets it because he thinks i might be damned... i dun know, alot of things are strange out here.
