New fundie site found

I stumbled across this site today. I seriously though it was a joke at first, but then I delved a little deeper and realized it wasn't. I can't believe some of the propaganda some of these extremists come up with. Some parts of it are truly funny though.

Enjoy..... or not.....

You know, they may have dug their grave with the Jewish bit.

Landover Baptist Church has made headlines here before, but not this article, I think. I wonder if this should be reported. They talk about bringing a Witch to the "Furnace Room," and advertise teaching how to hunt and capture Witches. Ragnar, in your area there are laws put in place against websites like this. Does anyone know how to go about reporting this to proper authorities and hopefully get it banned in your country? Also the laws about such? What is the difference here between them and the KKK or Nazi groups? Because it's religious?

Anyway, I'm sick of just rolling my eyes at this stuff. I want it gone.

If anyone has information on how to report, or who to, I'd love it. Thank you :)

I've seen this site before. While it comes across as a legit interpretation, I believe that it is a joke site.

It's insanely shocking the first time you see it though.

I don't know if it's bad enough to get banned though. Ragnar? Your thoughts please?

Namaste and Greetings

Okay I just checked on the site. Below is the information on the registration of that site. This is enough information to report it to search engines, IP's, etc. and by what they're saying, it seems to be enough to get them excluded as well as reporting them to their own service provider as insiting violence.

Brightest Blessings

Landover Baptist is a satire site. They've been around a long time, and as long as you remember it's all tongue-in-cheek, it's pretty funny. \:D/

These are the guys that offer Free Playstations to kids for converting... Just grab Mommy or Daddy's credit card number, plunk it down here and type in the words "I want to be saved" and God will deliver to you a "Free" Playstation.

I remember laughing like crazy when I saw that.

“Wicca, is just a fancy word that insecure unsaved teenagers who hate their parents use to describe their little club.”
 Wow. That's the whole site in a nutshell. Even if it IS satire, there are probably a couple poor saps who actually believe that crud. Always a couple bad apples in the bushel. :-"

The unfortunate thing is not only the description believed by nutjobs, there are those out there for whom that description actually fits.

Like the neo-goth who are simply monochromatic punks or the current "emos" who the dark grunge of days gone by. They choose a name to piss off their antagonized parents. The ones that take their path from Charmed, Buffy and Harry Potter, and those are the bad apples we have to toss from our own barrel.

I have to disagree, Dark Waters. Tossing them out isn't any kind of answer. Yes, they come to things with wrong ideas, and maybe for the wrong reasons. But, dismissing them, tossing them out b/c they're young and confused, isolated and angry, it's just as wrong as those nutjobs calling us all Satan Worshipers.

Tossing them out isn't right. Giving them a fair chance to LEARN, to UNDERSTAND, and maybe to find their path without the Hollywood fallacy is what I think is right. Help them see that there is beauty in all lives, in all things, in the darkness as well as the light. That they can be different without hurting other people's feelings, that they can be true to who they feel they are without shoving it down someone else's throat.

And I just want to say, before I get told I don't understand, I was a hurt, angry, isolated child with goth tendencies...and no, I didn't come to my path as rebellion, but I understand how some could think that. I am, and have always been, a Child of the Night...and not everyone understands. My way to this path came from natural talent mixed with an interest in mythology.

For the loners, finding somewhere that will accept them, not try and change them so much as educate them...it's powerful. To be SEEN, not overlooked. To be HEARD, not ignored. It changes things so much.

Oh I meant no offense to those who might of started in that way, and you are right that we should at least try to educate those who have fallen for the Hollywood glitz, still if the only reason someone comes to this route is to strike back and hurt their parents, that goes against the basic tenet we follow.
But you are right that acceptance and education can be a powerful influence, we just have to be sure he right lessons get taught.

As far as the goth, I tend to classify them as one of three types, and recent society has provided a fourth, I leave it as an exercise for the reader to determine where they might fit in. Remember the word symbol "Goth" relates primarily to a fashion/lifestyle choice.

Original/Classic Goth - These are the people true to actual Gothic Literature period in history, say 1764 through the Victorian Era. While it is true that Goth and Gothic show up as early as 300 BC and 12th century respectively, they are not generally considered part of the lifestyle. These people show a willingness to stand inside the edge of shadows to better see the darkness that can be within. They have an acceptance of all the aspects of humanity the secular as well as the religious and show acceptance of the myths and practices of the pre-Christian beliefs mixed in to the Christian era. Their fashion is distinctive and the basis for all that for all that follow.

The Neo-Goth - Very similar to the above but with a modern edge, tech is useful and they could be called the dark yuppies in that sense. With the modern era comes a more relaxed and prominent sensuality and a grasp that one should look for the pleasures life has to offer while there is still a chance to enjoy them. Fashionwise they use modern materials but still retain that flavour of the Classic era. They do tend to darker colours but still have plenty of blues and reds and greens and have white or pale accents.

The Faux-Goth - These are what I was really refering to above. These are the ones who wear nothing but black clothes and make-up. These are the ones that show up on Maury, Geraldo and Springer. They are the rebels without a real cause. If you applied some day-glo green and blue they would be identical to the Punk Rockers of bygone days.

The Emos - This is the new name for the group that are much like the Faux-Goth but they have taken on more of a Grunge aspect rather than punk. However there do seem to be different levels of this class and some are more like the Neo-goth.

The Sorceress from concept art for Diablo III. While I mention avatars, I'll shout out that I like Kystar's. Richard's awesome.

But back on topic.

That's why I chose to try something new. The LDS Church insists on changing their members to meet the 'norm' around here and I simply can't do that. I do a lot of sinful things, according to any Mormon, but I do them because in my life it is or was necessary for me to do that. I'm a better person than I am given credit for and I don't need to have my religion or peers acknowledge it to know it. And I don't need to always be looking up to 'God' when I hold a small portion of the Goddess or whatever mighty being presides over us, in myself.

Another thing, and I've told this repeatedly to my friends, all TRUE Wiccans, following the most traditional paths, will adhere to the one thing they have been taught is sacred: An it harm none, do what ye will. They are not allowed to put hexes on people or cause bad things and I feel that if we have even the slightest malicious intentions, the Goddess won't commit any of her time to our wishes.

In all honesty, to those who seek out Paganism as their private 'cult' and end up earning the true ones such a label, are just as bad as the missionaries that roam around Utah. ANY church can become a cult, with blind followers and a deluded leader. Sometimes people need to lead themselves to find their own inner strength to walk away from others' slipstreams.
