Canadias right next door to the US, its not like its a contagious disease, but we got some pretty crazy crap here. Like the english system. WTF?! metric is so much easier and its all scienctists use.

I like you!!! :-D I'm metric, except for kilos vs. lbs.

I did not realize that things in Canada were that bad!

Out door plumbing??
 Most Canadians have the indoor plumbing with the irritating heated floors  They are so darn frivolous!.

UNTIL my cabin!!! mwa ha ha ha! I shall have an outhouse and brave the cougars to get there at night! And a seat so cold that I'll probably stick to in winter.

I do not honestly understand why we dont change over. All english system does right now is confuse the science people. Casue we do everything in Metric, and the conversions are a pain in the :orcass:

Irriating floors?? soo nice

Cabin....in the winter....with an outhouse.....You will never see me there. Well for now, if my gf says otherwise, ill be freezing too

Same here, indoor washroom, the cottage has an outhouse though. I love to joke about being the out house, I have more stories about drinking and pranking the outhouse than I care to admit.

I like the metric system, the only problem is that you still buy wood in imperial, I have just learned to work in both, but I will never understand Fahrenheit temperature.

Farenhiet temperature is basically some drunk person making a new scale. There is no basis to it

There actually is, but it is not a very good basis:

I can't remember where Mr. Fahrenheit lived, but what he did was this:

The coldest it got in winter where he lived he made 0.
Normal Human body temperature he made 100.

Must have made perfect sense to Mr. Fahrenheit......

I always think that the more natural something is the faster you can learn it.

I was in Germany two days, and I could not remember or imagine tempratures in Farenheit.

In less than half a week I had totaly converted to Celcius. Obviously more natural, or logic.

Kilometers still get me, as does peoples height and weight in metric.

By the way. Are you all not so totaly concerned about what "Silly ol' fundy" may think of us straying so far from His/her/it's origional topic?

Another thought, I do not know about Kelreth, but am I the only guy left writting on these boards? ANY of them?;)

That's OK. (I've been told before that I am very much in touch with my feminine side....) ;)

By the way, "Old Chap" describes me very well (my sons refer to me as "The Old Fart")

My ex got me a sweat shirt, with that very description written on it.

Must admit, I thought it was a name for one of these "real ales" you get in U.K. "Theakstons "Old fart"". Or something.

When you consider some of the other names, like "Speckled Hen", "Old peculiar", or "Wobbly Bob", then it is not too much a strech of the imagination. ;)
