Fanatic: Your Opposite

Post those fundie conversion, spell request, turn my little brother into a frog, UFO, and just plain freaky emails you receive here. We can all critique them.

Fanatic: Your Opposite

Post by Librarian » Wed Dec 21, 2005 9:14 pm

Here's what I received:
If you can guess my religion correctly then you would know who I am. Your oppisite. When it comes right down to it its easy to tell when using satenism rituals your gonna be dealing with saten. I am a white magick follower with healing and not pain. God should whoop your ass but he fucking forgiving. So please contact me and will discuss later.
So here was my response:
I'll consider a discussion only after you've become intimately familiar with a spell checker and basic English grammar.
I wonder what the response will be, and if he's passed fourth grade.

Maybe he is afraid of spelling Satan correctly, you know, like saying Bloody Mary three times. Maybe he will conjure up the devil and he will take this person on wild rides through the fields inflicting blite.

Oh, I feel your pain!

I hate it when people don't even consider the idea of researching what they're talking about before they stick their foot in their mouths.

I had one too many co-workers trying to "convert" me...sigh.

Ahh, best comeback ever.

I get a few people hassling me on "myspace" (yeah, ok, I just use it to keep in touch with o.s. friends ok?) who have issues with my choice of avatars, photos listed, interests listed, MUSIC listed, and memorably, one marriage proposal from a finnish exchange student who wants to stay in Australia.

I mean, I know I waste a bit of time on the net myself, but do these people HAVE a life?

p.s. And yes, they always seem to be unable to spell / use basic grammar.

There's a TON of trash on Myspace. But it's still a good place to keep in touch with friends.

I use it for that exact purpose.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a Myspace junkie myself, lol. I once posted this quote on my blog...
"Of all the systems of religion that ever were invented, there is none
more derogatory to the Almighty, more unedifying to man, more
repugnant to reason, and more contradictory in itself, than this thing called
Christianity. Too absurd for belief, too impossible to convince, and
too inconsistent for practice, it renders the heart torpid, or produces
only atheists and fanatics. As an engine of power, it serves the purpose of
despotism; and as a means of wealth, the avarice of priests; but so
far as respects the good of man in general, it leads to nothing here or
hereafter." -Thomas Paine

I then got a comment from some chick who turned out to be a Christian rock artist saying something to the effect of "Got anything else to say?" Naturally since I didn't know her, and didn't care enough to respond, the comment was deleted. People are silly. Anyway, since it seems a few of us on the board use myspace, if anyone wants to check out my profile it's here... http://www.myspace.com/sagesarah

Gotta love fundies. And what's wrong with quoting Paine?

I sent you a friend request :).

I removed my site for privacy reasons not related to my pagan family.

Not to mention a pain (literally) on the ears!

"myspace" just got past my popup blocker with a "free" offer for 2 ipods and a loud blast of harsh rock.

Yikes!

Ahhh well. Thats ONE of the very few benefits of an ancient computer.

NO SOUND CARD: :-D :-D

NAJA! What a marathon. I went straight from posting this, I am now editing, at 01.25, it is now 04:00!

WHY? because I went to "Mypage... or whatever. That youve all been on about any way.

More forms than a Prussian tax office. But I am there now any way.

To the groans of my Wife. "Not another bloody web site!".

Thanks all for the tip.

AYE "Myspace" was the bunny.

OK, I got a response:
Well arnt you the joke of the holiday. I have a Book of Shadows. If you took any time to look up spellcasting then you would know a Book of Shadows is a book about your dreams that you sturdy and learn from. Not a book for other eyes. What do you know about the cleansing of the mind and spirit.
The absolutely petulant tome in that voice!

Apparently he's cleansed his mind of spelling, though!
