IP numbers.

Post by Ragnar » Sat Aug 09, 2008 5:25 am

I had a problem with my computer some time back, and lost log in data to many sites.

I have now found the site addresses, but my old E-Mail does not work. Any new one just keeps reverting to my IP number, and telling me that I am "already a member", but will not let me log in, or keeps trying to send my new details to the old address.

Any one know if it is possible to change an IP number without buying a new modem, or moving to Tibet?

Thanks.

the only thing I can think of, is resetting the ip-address in DOS.
You open your CMD screen, type ipconfig/release (which does exactly that). Your pc should start to protest that it can't find a network.
Then type ipconfig/renew. Your pc should stop complaining and hopefully it'll help.

Good luck,

Do you mean "renew DHCP lease"?

Your ISP assigns you a random IP address from their pool. By issuing a renew request you'll get a new IP address.
