It's not popular but what worked for me as a teen was a) cutting out meat, b) cutting out dairy and c) drinking lots of water with lots of fresh produce. My bf only gets them if he drinks something with dairy or with sugar, like say a hot chocolate, or even just a cookie.

Change your pillowcase every night

Drink lots of water

Try some lavendar oil but that's not solving the problem of why, and I'm not convinced teen zits are **only** hormones. Check your diet and water intake as well as stress levels and immune system. Get lots of vit C. If you have one that has infected, dab a bit of oregano oil on, or even when not. Very powerful.

Tea tree oil, my sister swears by it, only use it at night though because it smells.

And I don't think you use the pure tuff, I think there are mixes you buy from the pharmacy.

Any essential oil needs blended with a carrier before putting on the skin b/c they're concentrates. You could actually give yourself a chemical burn by using undiluted essentials. I did...by accident. Dropped my Marjoram oil on my hand when I was mixing something and it burned!

Most tea tree oils sold in pharmacies are in a carrier oil but not always.

Lavendar oil is one of the only oils you can apply directly.

Oh, yeah, I forgot about Lavender, but it depends on it it's blossom or spike...b/c some of the oils take the stems too...which makes them a harsher oil. Blossom is safe by itself, but the other stuff isn't exactly.

You are very welcome, CHL.

I found it out when I was comparing two lavender oils to purchase for my at-the-time budding Aromatherapy business. (Died when my partner moved out of state b/c of family commitments...but, oh well...wasn't meant to be.) The stuff that has the stems included is cheaper to make, so it's cheaper for start-up type people to get...but it's not as gentle as the blossom and leaves only mix. Unfortunately, we found this out AFTER we purchased the cheaper oil.

It still has the properties we wanted, but it has a very slightly higher side affect potential.

Oh well, live and learn.

Just a note: Funny Kevin should put this up just as you ask this. He really hits the nail on the head here

That Kevin guy is probably right, it's probably all in the diet and hormones. I can predict my monthly cycle depending on where the spots are on my face.
And green tea, I love the stuff but it detoxes too well and brings me out in spots.
Arr in my twenties and still get breakouts =;
