I love Ontario..
I love the swamps up really far North

I love the forests and the Canada Shield

And I love the diversity in Southern Ontario, When I am in Toronto I am never more than an hour from almost anything I want to do (except anything with the Ocean, but I am afraid of the ocean anyway)

*Huggles all Canadians*

Aw, OK, if it makes you feel any better.....

Oh, come back, proud Canadians
To before you had TV,
No hockey night in Canada,
There was no CBC (Oh, my God!).
In 1812, Madison was mad,
He was the president, you know
He thought he’d tell the British where they ought to go
He thought he’d invade Canada,
He thought that he was tough
Instead we went to Washington....
And burned down all his stuff!

And the White House burned, burned, burned,
And we’re the one’s that did it!
It burned, burned, burned,
While the president ran and cried.
It burned, burned, burned,
And things were very historical.
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa waa waah!
In the War of 1812!

Us hillbillies from Kentucky,
Dressed in green and red,
Left home to fight in Canada,
But they returned home dead
It’s the only war the Yankees lost, except for Vietnam
And also the Alamo... and the Bay of... ham.
The loser was America,
The winner was ourselves,
So join right in and gloat about the War of 1812

And the White House burned, burned, burned,
And we’re the one’s that did it!
It burned, burned, burned,
While the president ran and cried.
It burned, burned, burned,
And things were very historical.
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa waa waah!
In the War of 1812!

In 1812, we were just sittin’ around,
Mindin’ our own business, puttin’ crops into the ground.
We heard the soldiers coming and we didn’t like that sound.
So we took a boat to Washington and burned it to the ground.

Oh... we... fired our guns, but the Yankees kept-a coming,
There wasn’t quite as many as there was a while ago.
We fired once more and the Yankees started running,
Down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico, oh, oh....
They ran through the snow and they ran through the forest,
They ran through the bushes where the beavers wouldn’t go.
They ran so fast, they forgot to take their culture,
Back to America, and Gulf and Texaco

So, if you go to Washington, its buildings clean and nice,
Bring a pack of matches, and we’ll burn the White House twice!

And the White House burned, burned, burned,
But the Americans won’t admit it
It burned, burned, burned,
It burned and burned and burned
It burned, burned, burned,
Now, I bet that made them mad
And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of little babies
Waa waa waah!
In the War of 1812!!

Glad to see another AW fan, CHL!

Well I can tell you why I don't like the Quebecers...but that's just my personal preference. We all have our own reasons. But I also can't say I'm a fan of France either. lol. Sad but true.

I hadn't seen this thread, but I'm from Canada too. Calgary, Alberta actually.

And yes, Canada does rock!!!

Ma Mere est Quebecois,

Seriously, the Quebec problem is frustrating, time will tell us what will happen.

And Kitsune Calgary is right cool, someday I want to go during the stampede.

As I'm not from Canada nor anywhere even remotely close, so what's Canada's qualms with Quebec?

And the french are just rude, snide, and pompous! They think too highly of themselves for ppl who can't even keep they're own country by themselves! I don't care much for most of America, but atleast we know how to say thank you when someone saves us and don't turn our nose up at them later.....grrrr, ungrateful little SoBs, grrrrr...... ok, snarling done now. However, on an up note, the french have done 2 good things for America, 1: Target, I LOVE Target, way better then Wal-Mart. 2: Their Prime Minister handled the french fry situation very well while making bush look like an idiot, french fries are Belgium.

Canada really burned down the White House?!?! Cause that's kinda cool. We never heard anything bout that in history class.
Maybe now you're starting to understand that while I may have been born predispositioned to be pretty batty, my parents saw to it that it was a certainty and completely unavoidable. -Me

Well, not all French are rude I promise. I have met a lot that really are great people. Same with every where, there are some real SoB Canadians and Americans. The culture is different in France too.

The Quebec story is long and confusing. In short, there are some people in Quebec who would like Quebec to be their own country because of the different culture and language. It got pretty violent under Trudeau in the 70's and 80's with some politicians getting kidnapped and one killed and found in a trunk.

I want Quebec to stay, they add a lot to our culture, but I want compromise. We give a lot to Quebec and they give a lot too us. We will see what happens.

I agree with everything you just said, Willow.

Hehehe...aye, that was brilliant.

Forgotten Oceans - sorry, I can't hear 'Walmart' without laughing now - Arrogant Worms did a song call the 'Mountie Song', and part of it was spoken dialogue between a mountie and two american tourists.

Part of it goes:

American tourist1: Oh, he's got a gun. One gun!
American tourist 2: What's he going to to do, squirt us?
Mountie: Well I....well...how many guns you got?
American tourist1: I got ten.
American tourist 2: I got fourteen. That makes twenty....
Both tourists: one.
Mountie: Where'd you keep that many guns?
AT1: In our tank.
Mountie: You have a tank?
AT1: We didn't walk here.
AT2: It's a long way.
Mountie: Where would you get a tank?
AT1: Walmart.
Mountie: Oh.
