Ancient Egypt!
I was wondering did Egyptians have anything that protain anything in the magic(k) area? I was just asking because I would like to learn some Egyptian magic(k). I feel much connected to them, especailly with Baset, Anubis, Thot and Sobek. I know many religions have there own magic(k) systems but what would be the Egyptain's? I Am Interested and curious.

I am becoming more than what I thought I would ever become.

Re: Ancient Egypt!
From what I understand, it was religion based. They had rituals that requested the aide of a god or goddess from their list, and specific ways of thanking them...done by priests and priestesses for the community itself.
Beyond that, I don't know because I only vaguely studied Egyptian mythology.

From what I understand, Magic without using the power of the Gods was considered arrogant if I remember correctly. Aside from that tidbit and a general knowledge of the mythology, I really couldn't say.
Can you put yourself out there on Eqytian forums, and let people know you're interested in finding out the history... Most people are willing to share history (even about Gods and Magic) if it's part of their cultural history.

Trying to create a world, even in words, is good occupational therapy for lunatics who think they're God, and an excellent argument for Polytheism. -S.M. Stirling
