Post by Kystar » Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:06 pm

Hey, gang, just wanted to let you all know that I'm going in for my surgery at 11:30 AM tomorrow...or is it 11 AM? Anyways, I need to be at the hospital at 9:30...so meh. Wish me luck.

I'll have hubby post an update here sometimes in the next few days.

Hello all, this is Kystar's Hubby speaking.

She is home and resting comfortably. The surgery went very well, though the recovery time took a bit longer than usual.

We are home, safe, and healthy

Thanks goes out to everyone who sent their light and their love our way.

Healing, slow but steady

Post by Kystar » Sat Jan 10, 2009 3:16 pm

Hey, all, I'm back! at least in small chunks of time when I feel well enough to sit up!

The swelling is starting to go down a little bit, but I have to admit I burst into tears when I first saw them. I didn't expect things to be quite so...Frankenstein monster like! Silly of me, but Aunt Flo had just "left" so I was a little emotional.

I'm able to sit up for longer periods of time, and was able to actually eat a sandwich today...so I think I'm improving. I'll post when I can stand to put my hands to keyboard again.

Hugs to all, thanks for the blessings and good thoughts.

Aw hun glad to hear you'r recovering. Don't worry about the stitches and such. They will heal. In the meantime, now that the surgery is a few days over, it's a good time to eat lots of garlic (good for immune system and antibacterial, but also a blood thinner, so if there is any bleeding, wait a bit) and dark leafy greens, which are rich in vit E, protein (in amino acid form), and other vits and minerals conductive to quick healing. May I recommend the infamous Green Smoothie for quick healing and speedy recovery? That, and running energy through.

 Keep us updated. Very very very proud of you!

YAY!

I'm just popping on to report my progress, as promised.

First off, I haven't had a pain killer since yesterday afternoon. Part of the reason I stepped back from the Tylenol is that I kept having problems with my IBS. I'm not sure if the Tylenol is to blame, but since I haven't had any, my diarrhea hasn't come back. Since Tylenol makes me drowsy, I'm wondering if it doesn't affect my IBS too. I mean, I wasn't eating regularly yet, but I was taking regular doses, so maybe I was upsetting something.

As for other things, the incisions seem to be closing fairly rapidly. I'm treating them regularly with Neosporin, as the discharge instructions say. S-i-s Luna thinks it's to keep the scars to a minimum. I'll switch over to my essential oil blend made to treat burns and scratches when the incisions are 100% sealed. (It has lavender, so it should reduce the scaring more).

I'm sitting up more, and the swelling seems to be going down, except for under my arms. My range of motion has improved, but I'm not able reach over my head to grab anything yet.

I think things are going well, they're starting to move like normal again, instead of being too swollen to react to gravity! LOL!

Oh well, off to watch Iron Chef America! L8r!

Hugs to all who have given positive wishes or sent energy!

Hey, all, just wanted to pop up an update.

Had my first followup visit today. The Doctor says things are healing well. Though things are still a little swollen, it's to be expected. I should get full range of motion back by the end of the month.

Hugs to all who sent energy and wishes!
