My Grandad.

Post by Windwalker » Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:43 am

Hey guys. Haven't been around much lately, but been missing ya ;)

Um, I'm here asking for blessings for my Grandad. My family doesn't talk about illness and so on very much... I think my grandmother likes to control everything and never wants to upset anyone, etc... anyway, my Grandad has prostate cancer. Or he's in real danger of getting prostate cancer. Or something. (Like I said, they don't talk.)

Prostate cancer in men of about 80 isn't really unusual, but my Grandad has been given these drugs. The unfortunate side effect is that they cause depression. He went with the drugs because they're less dangerous than surgery (because he's old and he could die on the table, I guess) but they're making him so sad, and it's heartbreaking to see him upset all the time. I love my Grandad, he's the best guy in the world.

I'd be so grateful if you could send a blessing or two.

Blessings to him, and to the family that is dealing with the fallout. Maybe it should be mentioned to his Dr that the meds are causing depression?

[-o< Definately blessings his way, mon ami!

Is he accepting of prayer/energy? Is he a spiritual individual? Because you or he could say a prayer over the meds - sort of like charging a crystal - to allow his body to more easily be effected by the positive actions of the meds, and for all of the negative effects to be flushed out.

He's not personally a spiritual person, but he's accepting of it in others... when his knee was troubling him, I bought and charged a stone to ease joint pain. He claims it worked (though he may be humouring me) and carries it with him all the time, which it very sweet of him. I might try that, CHL, that sounds like a great idea. Thanks!

The doctor warned that the meds would likely cause depression when they prescribed it, actually. They considered that it was the best option.

I did see my grandad today and he seemed happier, which was wonderful, so thank you guys for your blessings etc, they are so, so appreciated.
