Honey, do you remember how tired you were after having her? Some of that was from the energy it took to have her, but also the pain of it. For her, right now, her body is mending itself. She's in some constant pain, even with pain killers. Her body is working overtime to make it work again. So of vourse she is tired. My grand mother had back surgery two years ago. Had plates put in her back. It took her at least a couple of months before she seemed awake, partially because of the meds, but again partially because of the repair her body was doing.

So just be patient. She is tired and she is probably frustrated about not really being able to do anything. She can't move well because of the cast.

Best wishes

Thanks Garnet

your right, I forgot to mention she has a metal plate and 2 pins in her hip. They will come out 1 year from now.

I also got 2 pics of her in the cast posted on my facebook page (which doesn't have a public album, you have to be on my friends list.) and on my myspace page. Check them out here:

There at the end of the slideshow, or just click on Photos to see them sitting still.

Blessed Be

Yuck, casts suck but that one must drive her mad.

I am thinking of both of you because you both must be exhasted. But it will get better. Babies adapt quickly.

Good luck.

She'll come back to you, don't worry :-) We're none of us particularly social when we're tired and in pain.

I think you need one of these right now.

As has been said, she'll start acting like your baby girl again soon. Hunny she'll be okay. One day at a time, all right? And don't forget to give some love to yourself as well. I'm sure all you're thinking of right now is your little one.

I wish I could offer more to someone in such anguish over her little one

I'm thinking and praying for you! [-o<

It's frustrating when people come round from operations. Some people come round and are raring to go straightaway, others need a little time to get over it and you don't know how they'll be until they come around.

You'll all survive this and be all the stronger for it!

Well she is now acting more like her old self except for all the whining, and she can't do much so its hard to figuire out what she wants.

Shes still trying to understand that she can't sit up on her own or walk like she used to. But the countdown has started until this thing comes off.
And Im hoping today her special wheelchair will be delivered as promised.

And she now refuses to take any more pain medicine so I guess we are done with that - even when I think she is in pain. And the itchiness of healing has started and I think that will drive her crazy.

Thanks for all the hugs, I appreciate it. >:D<

I'm glad to hear she's coping with everything fairly well.

How's she doing these day?

Well on Monday July 9th she had her cast changed which means we are half way through -- YAY.

Now its purple and the bar is gone. I need to post the pic i took.
And I made her appointment to have the cast taken off on Thursday August 23rd at 8:30am EST. So now I have something to count down to *Lol*

Its still driving me crazy though that she can't do anything herself and needs to be entertained 24/7. I thought her to be more independent and more driven then that.

Anyhow, thank you for your thoughts and blessings. We really do appreciate them!

This is wonderful news! It will be all over before you and she know it and the trials will be worth it!

Thank you everyone

All 3 of us are doing fine, even if we are a bit aggravated with the cast and waiting for it to come off. After that it will be very happy times and I will post new pics and stuff.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention but 2 days ago was Thursday August 23rd
and Serenity got her cast off........ YAY!!! =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

She still doesn't do much because her leg is stiff, and she holds it in the same position like its still in the cast. It took us 3 tries and then 3rd times a charm we got her into the bathtub without screaming...... which is odd because she loves baths and had been asking for one when she was in the cast.

On Monday we are going to start some paperwork to get her a physical therapist to come twice a week, and her doc said she will WALK into his office at her next appointment which is 6 weeks from now on Friday Oct 5th. The only bad news is......her ball is in the socket, but he would like to see it farther in, deeper in, just a little bit more tucked up in there. If at her next appointment the X-ray shows that its still to the side just a little, he wants to do another surgery and another cast for 6 weeks AAAAAHHHGGG!!! :smt093 I don't think I could survive that.

Although, if he does do that surgery, he would also take out the metal plate and pins in her hip/leg and he was supposed to do that a year from now, so that would save us that surgery a year from now. But if he did that surgery a year from now, that one doesn't require another cast. I don't think I can handle another cast, I won't survive it. And why teach her to roll over, crawl, stand, and walk and then take it all away from her again?

Anyhow, I had good news and a little disappointing news so I just wanted to celebrate the good news with y'all and ask for prayers, blessings, etc that in Oct he doesn't say theres another surgery. [-o< [-o< [-o<

And there will be new pics of course on my facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/ladysylpher and my myspace page
http://www.myspace.com/wbdsgnr1 (click on the pic of me to get to the photos.)

Thanks everyone.
