Eye Infection

Post by runewulf » Wed Oct 18, 2006 9:38 am

Hey all, I either have a laceration or eye infection in my left eye, either way it's pretty serious.. I can't use it and the pain is very bad... I can barely focus the right eye to read with things as they are... I have Dr. appt. in a couple hours so hopefully they can do something about it... ~ keeping fingers crossed ~ so please forgive any glaring typos from posts over the last couple days... this started yesterday so I've been pretty close to blind since then.

Hope it feels better soon. [-o< Remeber to not touch it and wash your hands a lot so it doesn't spread to your other eye.

Hope the doctor's apt. goes well too.

Eye infections SUCK. Especially when you've broken your glasses and you have to take out your contact lenses and you can't see a damn thing.

[-o< Get better soon! Good vibes heading your way! [-o<

thank you all... it actually turned out to be corneal erosion... apparently I damaged the cornea at some point and the top layer eroded when I was asleep and exposed a bunch of nerve endings. They have me anti-inflamatory eye drops and a lubricating ointment, so we'll see how things go. He says that it should ease in the next week, but wants me to keep using the ointment for a few months to keep it from happening again.... yay

I'm a little late here but good vibes and best wishes your way none the less.

As for the corneal erosion, did you mention to him how much time you spend on a computer? I was told by my eye doctor some years back that staring at the computer all day was giving me my dry eye problems and that I was almost at the corneal erosion point myself. He told me it was common amongst computer users and recommended I use lubricating eye drops every few hours (just the plain natural tears kind). I haven't had problems since.
