Huge Blessings for me and my family

Post by Wbdsgnr1 » Fri Nov 18, 2005 11:04 am

Hey you guys I have a big load of news to dump on all of you.....

On Tuesday November 15th, I had a 2:15pm doctors appointment (I have to go once a week now ya know!) and while we were there they did an ultrasound to check on her breech position and the doctor found out not only was she breech but she had very low amniotic fluid.

Apparently this is a huge cause for concern and can make babies very very sick. So he announced that we were having baby today (on tuesday) and just about made me and Firelord fall off our chairs! I had even skipped lunch and had planned to pack my hospital bag later that day so nothing was done.... I asked the Doc if I could run home first and he said Nope, go straight to the hospital, which is like a block down from his office.

And so we did go to the hospital and from the time we checked in, about an hour later I had a C-section and my baby girl was born.
Serenity Jade Bush on November 15th, 2005 at 4:40 pm Central Time.
She weighed 6lbs 15 3/4 oz. (basically 7 lbs)
she was 18 3/4 " long

So now I am a mom of a beautiful baby girl....... a preemie baby. And with preemies there are problems.... like her lungs aren't fully developed and she had a lot of problems breathing. So they flew her up to Louisville, KY (about 100 miles north of me) to a special childrens hosptial called Kosair, but I couldn't go cuz I was still in the hospital down here recovering from my C-section but he did discharge me earlier then normal for a C-section (I was let out on Thursday) and I have to stay at my parents house because my only bathroom at my house is upstairs and I am not aloud to climb stairs, or drive or lift anything heavier than my baby for 2 weeks.

Expcet I haven't gotten to hold her at all yet because shes always hooked up to these tubes and stuff. And apparently shes pretty fiesty because she hates everyone touching her, etc. She screams and kicks out her hands and feet. Apparently if they keep the room dark and quiet and cover her ears and eyes she does a lot better and calms down.

Anyhow this story is getting long, I am about to leave for Louisville and stay up there until she comes home (were not sure when that is yet) because I have been pumping breast milk and they give it to her thru a feeding tube.
Last time I checked she was taking 60 breaths per minute but 20 of those were done for her by the ventilator. And normal room air is 21% Oxygen and shes on 47% oxygen. But these numbers get better every day, I think shes really improving and hopefully will be able to come home soon.

So as you can see our lives are a total wreck right now. Im still in pain and recovering from my surgery and my baby is in a neo-natal intensive care unit in a city 100 miles away from me and Firelord is running around trying to take care of everyone and everything except for himself..... poor guy. But hes a great husband and father.

And we do have a few pics of her that hopefully I can post soon.
I just need all your guys magickall blessings that I know work so well!
Thank you guys, your the best pagan family ever......

blessed be

Blessings to you,
6 lbs is big for a preemie so I think that is a good sign. And the recovery form a C-section can be so hard. I am sending a lot of prayers your way. All the best and keep us posted.
Blessings

Six pounds isn't too small for a first baby, and plenty big for a premie.

Congratulations on being a mommy (and daddy, Firelord). We'll be praying for you and your sweet little Serenity. And I'll be sending energy.

If she's screaming, she's got good lungs and she can breathe. And that's a good sign. Fiesty is good, if a bit difficult to deal with. :-D

Bright Blessings, My sister. I hope you can hold her sometime soon.

Definitely have you in my thoughts. If she's feisty now, then she's definitely a fighter. You guys will make it through just fine. [-o<

6 lbs is pretty darn good!
I was 1 month early and almost 4 lbs.

I will do some major sending tonight, some real intensives if she allows me to. Good luck, girl! Your daughter will pull through and will fight for health. I'll send lots to her, on her lungs and her heart especially, and to you and your c-section site, as well as to Firelord even just to get him to rest well for a night.

You have my best wishes, my friend, and I will be sending all I can for you all.

Well thank you everyone, we really appreciate it.

And not only was she 6 lbs, she was only 1/4 oz from being 7 lbs, so I basically just round to 7 lbs. But everyone knew I was going to have a big baby because I was 9 lbs 6 oz when I was born, and firelord was just shy of 9 lbs himself, and when I had my first ultrasound the doc said she weighed a lot for how far along I was. ALtho I am sure she has lost quite a bit of weight right now, considering everything.

And there isn't much of an update on her, shes kinda doing the same as she was. Altho they say she breathes just fine and doesn't really need the ventilator at night or when shes sleeping, but when shes awake shes still so sensitive to all the stimulation (sights, sounds, touch, etc) that it stresses her out and she needs the ventilator. But the venitlator is only doing 15 breaths per minute for her right now. And instead of having sugar water they are now giving her some yellow electrolyte/protein stuff. Half the time I wonder why I am pumping milk for her, they are just freezing it at the hospital until she can handle having it.

I really hope she gets to come home by Thanksgiving, but we will see, I wouldn't want to push her. I have some pics that I am going to post in Librarians photo album thing, I will post a link to it in a few minutes.

thanks again
blessed be

She looks like a fighter for sure! Cute as a button too.

And look at the bright side of a c section - you didn't have to look at that aweful, scary squashed head baby that you get the normal way :-D
