Chalice... kinda stupid question

Post by Earth Daughter » Sat Jun 17, 2006 3:04 pm

Okay I know that there are no truly stupid questions and that it is better to ask than sit and wonder, so here I go. I was going to purchase my first chalice today (it was just a simple silver cup, probably not originally a chalice in the sense that I was going to use it, seeing as it was in a Christian shop *read crosses/ Jesus loves you quotes everywhere*) and then i realized that I don't know any of the uses of a chalice. Do any of you use one? What do you use it for?
Looking forward to your answers.
Blessed be!

Well, it is used to hold ritual wines and drinks.

It is a symbol of the feminine, of life-giving and birth.

That is all I know. I do not regularly use one, but then, I've had no one to do rituals with. Now I may have that O_O so the chalice may take centre stage for a little bit.

As with any new tool, try meditating on the chalice, the symbology and any uses. Each tool has much to teach ones willing to listen and learn.

it can also stand for the Element Water in a simple altar setup. I actually have a few, not that I've needed them, as I don't do full altar rituals.

Medtiation is the key. And research.
