Mabon Blessings

Post by Kitsune » Wed Sep 23, 2009 4:03 am

Just wanted to wish everyone a Blessed Mabon in the Northern Hemisphere or a Blessed Beltane in the Southern Hemisphere!

I celebrated by having a friend over! Me, Grimwell and our friend had a great dinner of home made Nachos (corn) and I also made a Mabon Bran Loaf (Apple-Bran). The ritual was great. Very wonderful!

I'll detail it more after I get back from work!

What did you all do?

Sadly, I do what I do about every turn of the wheel - I worked. Said a few quiet words and then loudly wished my friends a happy day - even those strange ones who live in crazy upside down land! And then I worked some more. But then I went home to my wife and daughter and enjoyed a delicious homemade soup. My Sapphire is an awesome cook.

I did manage to get out of the building during my lunch break and enjoy the cool breeze and the smell of changing leaves that was on the air. All in all, it was a pretty good day.

My Mabon consisted of Partying with friends. Lol.
I considered it a Mabon celebration, though it was just a regular Party-
Exit Light, Enter Night. :]

Happy Mabon!

Mabon/Ostara blessings!!!

Chris and I heard some unhappy news yesterday, quite fitting for the entrance of the dark half of the year. A friend of his passed away. We spent the night sort just talking and reading CWG.

Oh, drat it... Is it Ostara?

That's what you get when 3 pagans on 4 hours sleep try to write posts when they've just woken up.

We had a great ritual though. Our circle is set up, and had been made sacred space, so we held the ritual there.

When I handed our friend a copy of the ritual she asked where I had found such an evokotive ritual online. She seemed shocked when I told her that I'd written it.

She stayed over for the night (Crazy can attest that our couch is actually comfortable) and then we drove her home in the morning.

It was a great night.

After the ritual though, she said that it was so simple and short, it was really surprising. Apparently the only group rituals she's done have been ones with enough people that you actually need to spend nearly an hour just getting people into the right frame of mind.

I told her that with only three people, and those three having a connection to each other (even if it is a slim one), it was natural to skip that part, since our minds were nearly in tune the moment we stepped onto the circle.

A nice ego booster for me, if nothing else!

Yah it's Ostara darling. Beltane is when you guys have Samhain, and when I decided to have our wedding, which makes it much easier for me to remember which is Ostara and which is Beltane lol.

Sounds like you had a wonderful evening Kitsune!! :-D
