Job rant x one billion

Post by Lotus » Wed Nov 26, 2008 12:31 am

Yes, I often complain about he hellhole that I work at. Yes, I know I need to find a new job. Yes, we all know that I hate my job and it is slowly sucking the life out of me.
I transfered about a five months ago to avoid drama. For a good period of time there was no coworker drama however a good deal of customer drama.
There is this very childish girl there who throws tantrums to get days off and to manipulate things to how *she* wants them. Yes, I am friends with the manager here and we get along fine but this girl grew up friends of the manager. Her family and my manager's family, I guess, were neighbors for most of her childhood. This girl is still young like 19 years old.
Many of the co-workers have dubed this girl as the "manager's pet" and uses this relationship to her advantage.
I see this girl as the cold hearted manipulative child that she truely is. Thankfully the manager is not fully in her pocket but cannot see the forest for the trees.
This girl has this annoying habit of writting things like "(her name) rules" or her name everywhere. Originally I thought nothing of it until I realized that it was a tactic to rub coworkers faces in the fact that her and the manager have a friendship.
One day she wrote a completly rude note directed towards me using profanity of all sorts. After I showed it to the manager she promptly wrote her up and repremanded her. For awhile, she was pulling more childish pranks like counting down the register short. I can deal with stuff like this but a few of my co-workers who cannot deal with it were victims. She even admited that she did this on purpose to try and piss me off. I have handled registers short for all variety of reasons and this does not fluster me. It flustered the elderly clerk who fell prey to it.
There are other little things like not preping for the next shift when I am the next shift. She will leave things like the trash undone when it is her job to do them. However, if I am not the one taking the next shift, her preparations are flawless.

My manager is on Vacation which is spiralling things out of control. It is like mommie is not there looking so everyone is busting out.
I came into the store early (to make up hours) and did a store walk. This is filling out a form and checking the store to see if the shift before you completed their tasks. Me doing this obviously pissed her off because she wrote "bite Me" on one of the forms we are supposed to fill out and wrote her name everywhere. The district supervisor showed up later that day and I did show him where she wrote "bite me" and just told me that he "will nip it in the butt."
She also got pissed off that I had the new lady do the trash before the end of the shift.

Yes, these things are little aggravations and I have been ignoring them. It is an on-going thing now and I am tired of it.
I have never worked with someone so freakin childish in my life.
She gets away with murder and acts even more childish. Many (not all listed here) of her childish antics are really getting the manager into trouble.
Really, the temptation to lock her out into the dumpster is great.

I really would love a new job too bad the economy blows. Yes, not an excuse.

Just had to get some things off my chest,

Lotus, keep a record of every little prank she pulls. That way, when she tries something to get you fired, you'll have evidence to back yourself up, and she'll have none. Start now, if you haven't started already. I mean EVERYTHING she does. Write dates, times, and a good description.

Remember, Karma has a vicious bite

 Here's for a bit of strength to endure the angry antics of a woman who feels so bad about life that she has to make it worse for everyone else.

I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. It can be very draining to put up with that nonsense day in and day out. I hope things get better soon for you. Surely your manager can't allow it to go on much longer.

Man, that stinks, I cannot handle childish people.

All I can say is remember that what goes around comes around, it doesn't make it suck any less now but you know that in the end you will pull through and she is the one that looks like a putz.

Thanks.

There is more to the story. There is always more, right? *sigh* I think she is guilty of way more than just being childish.
