OK, you can all have a good laugh at my expense...

Well, a few weeks ago I couldn't stand the long hair anymore and I had it cut very short, with just the front sides left long and asymmetrical - a really sassy cut that looks good on me 8-)

So, those front locks of hair tend to fall forward any time I lean forward and... I had a full dye pot of wool on the stove - I leaned forward to check the progress and yup, those front strands slipped forward and fell right into the boiling pot of dye  They were only in there a few seconds, but with a newly started dye bath at a boil with wash fast acid dyes... well, I now have pink ends on my front strands of hair

With any luck it will wash out after a few shampoos since it didn't have too long in the dye bath...

:-o

Wow!

Pictures???

I've had my share of bad experiences with hair... Things I still will not tell for the sheer stupidity...

Hey, I think you should dye your entire hair pink ^_^ It would match! Red at the top (or bottom). (I am being semi-serious.)

Well... I tried to overdye it to try and get back to a somewhat normal shade - now the tips are a blue-black-purple *sigh* I think I'll leave well enough alone now...

you should just do pink streaks and make it seem intentional :P

I have blue streaks for a while, I loved them.

Hey, nothin wrong with pink hair, nothing at all.

I'm currently sporting a half black half magenta colour job a`la Cruella DeVille.

I'll have to try this "wool dye" myself in future

OK, I can live with it now - the over dye I tried putting onto the pink obviously was just a weak coating that masked it a bit *sigh* - however, most of the intensity came out. It looks a bit stark with me being the white grub who can't go out in the sun, heck, it almost matches my lips LOL. 42 year old punk, that's me :-D

Oh, btw CHL - dunno if your red hair will do this, but take a good look at the rest of the hair - when they cut everything off and got down to mostly new growth my red is terribly faded out - poo - the same happened to my red headed sister, cousins, etc. Once we get a bit long in the tooth our red tresses fade and get streaked with white (no, those aren't highlights lol). I'd hoped the fading wouldn't be so bad for me - but hey, I guess now I have compensated for it with the dye pot incident

PS - why is it so darn hard to take your own picture?

That's so cool looking. I dyed my hair black back in October, but decided in April that I had waited long enough and was going to re-dye it a nice Auburn colour. Unfortunately, the black wasn't all out yet. So now my hair is Auburn red up top, and darker, red/black for the rest of it. I thought it looked bad, but considering the styles nowadays, it looks like I did it deliberately.

Actually it looks pretty cool if I do say so myself. If I ever get the chance to go the green/black or deep purple that I'd like to try, I'll post pics of those.
