Now here's something to get steamed up about.

The Occult and its danger to your kids?

Post by Librarian » Wed Feb 25, 2009 7:09 pm

I knew there was a reason the Examiner needs to fail.
The Occult is dangerous and real! It can be misused by anyone who is involved in it. I can tear kids away from their families. I can drive wedges between parents and their kids causing the breakup of families, and in some extreme cases can even be a reason for death. But there are other physical dangers too. This is why it is so dangerous for teens to become involved with the Occult.
Please remember, the nutjob who wrote this is an independent nutjob and not indicative of the nutjobs the Examiner hires. ](*,)

Mirriam-Webster defines Occult as : matters regarded as involving the action or influence of supernatural or supernormal powers or some secret knowledge of them.

That applies equally to us as it does to the Christians, Jewish, etc.

I wonder if the Pope knows he is an advocate for the breakup of families.
I'm living in the Shadows and the Night,
Wrapped in warm darkness, safe and sure.
My Path shines by the Moon's fragile light,
It frees my Mind and keeps my Heart pure.

For a professional writer, he has a LOT of mistakes in there. That's a sign of either: A) A very rushed story, or B) A story that was a complete lie with no facts.
Upon our complaint, these books were moved to an area where the viewer needed to 18 years of age to enter.
This is BIAS. Teens are almost adults and we have rights. We have the right to OPEN knowledge. Which means books about religions shouldn't be hidden from us, it's our parents' choices on what we are allowed to read, but after 16 you're old enough to know yourself and what you're comfortable with. This man is just attention deprived, I swear. This person shouldn't be writing if he can't keep a fair opinion and try to understand both sides. I could say that if he was opposing gay rights or pro-choice abortion, he'd be off that site VERY quickly. Key point, I agree with the Librarian.

Hmm. Reminds me of something one of my Upline said today:

"You ever wonder about this, how a young teen can watch sex, violence, rape, murder, on TV? But when it comes to a spiritual decision, they're not old enough. It's too mature. I think that is the most important thing for someone to make at a young age."

(He is, of course, saying this with enthusiasm and getting the room fired up. Wish I could show that in my translation!"

Really, though. Kids can watch some of the most horrific stuff on TV - and it doesn't have to be video games or movies: It's the freaking NEWS for goodness sake, but when it comes to making a spiritual decision, suddenly they are ignorant and denied the ability to search and make their own choice.

Food for thought.

EDIT TO ADD:

Heh... One more thing. You better believe that when I'm making millions and building schools and wells and saving the world, that every single person is going to know a PAGAN did this, and that they're off the streets because a Pagan was willing to shake hands and work with Christians, Muslims, Hindus, and Jews. When I'm through, you better BELIEVE parents aren't going to be banning their children from owning pets just because they own a book on Wicca.

Do your part, people. Let's REALLY represent what Pagans are!!!!

Good point CHL and mahala, we are very funny about the things we decide to trust adolescents with.

I won't put too much stock in the articles quality.

What a crock. I'd really like to see some news results of rising numbers of human sacrifice.

Honestly, I feel that this presentation shows more of the danger of the occult to children: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHdXG2gV01k

It's far more honest a depiction of the material being investigated.

LOL, I love it,

All they need is to start a fight about Tolkien or something.
