hehe been awhile had to hunt it up

If a woman is suffering with menstrual pains I have devised the following spell to relieve the pain. THe woman should be naked, comfortably and try to relax as much as possible, then first charge your hands with energy, and lay your hands on the painful area. Gently in a widdershins motion, circle the hands massaging the pain away, see the energy being absorbed into the pain and dissolving it away thus:

Going, Going
Flowing, Flowing
Pain be gone
Pain now go
Blood will come
Blood will FLow
You can also anoint with soothing oil, in a suitable moon symbol, which will help the spell
===
next will post some aromatherapy

Start the treatments the day after the last day of your moon cycle. Continue throughout two complete cycles. Plus 14 days. Then break for 14 days so that you can see how your body reacts to treatments. All women are created different so try adjusting the following formulas to find one that suits your own body. Once you find a combination that works well for you, you can then use in moderation.
The following formulas can be used in several ways.
Mixed with 2 tablespoons base vegetable oil and used as a massage oil on the abdomen and lower back areas
Added as bath oil to daily bath.

Thanks for posting those Antioch!

I am late in joining this convo but ah well. Considering it started n 2003 I don't feel that bad, lol.

Well I used to get bad cramps (would take 2 IBU Profein a month, gee I wonder why) but I did the moss thing and I don't feel cramps really anymore. A few the week before, but that's it. (I wasn't sitting on the ground, I just let a few drops fall on moss and buried it, and oh geez sorry that is graphic ><) It was really liberating, because I am FINALLY starting to allow myself to feel GOOD about my femininity and to celebrate it! Also I buried my wisdom teeth around the same spot O___O

Did you know that during their Moon Time the women of the villages (this is in Native America, toward Navajo region, not sure of other regions) would retreat to the Moon Lodge or Black Lodge (a black tent symbolizing femininity and the moon) and rest and be with their Sisters? They were free of all chores and work, and if a man ever insisted a woman not go to the Lodges and do her chores, it would fortell disaster for the tribe!! I would REALLY like to go back to those times ;) And during the Sun Dance men would pierce through their pectoral muscles and tie it to a pole and dance as their giving of pain and blood back to the Earth just as we do during menstruation and labour.

As for rituals: Mainly just Reiki. When I have daughters, I will give them both their Reiki 1 when they menstruate for the first time as a gift, a celebration, and as a pain-killer, lol!

I usually make up a tea to help.

Um:

Juniper
Marigold
Chamomile
Yarrow (not too much of this one, can cause photosensitivity in some people)

Is there much that Juniper doesn't fix? In love with that herb. I focus myself and my herbs on healing, especially when I'm picking them fresh from the garden. No other rituals apart from that, large amounts of chocolate (sugar helps with energy levels) and enforced exercise.

Then they laught at you.
Then they fight you.
Then you win.

Yes Yarrow is my best friend :P ha ha. For everything. It really enhances Ki flow and strengthens the lining and muscles throughout your digestive system when drunk as a tea. I was making a Reiki bed when I slipped with a chisel and cut my wrist pretty bad, went to the yarrow patch, chewed a sprig, put it on, and the bleeding stopped immediately. A fantastic tea for cramps is Raspberry leaf ^__^ and chamomile is good as well, and catnip.

Ok, way late, but who isn't every now and again? ;) Mine has always been heavy and long, like a whole box and a half of super plus tampons and 8 to 9 days, so is there any thing I should do about it? And I've already asked the doctor, he didn't know either, as far as he could tell, I was fine. I don't really have a ritual, I just try to do more exercises (that includes sex) and I drink willow bark tea the first 2 or 3 days, that's when my cramps are the worst! If any one knows how to help lighten and shorten a period, please, let me know!
Maybe now you're starting to understand that while I may have been born predispositioned to be pretty batty, my parents saw to it that it was a certainty and completely unavoidable. -Me

I was on the pill for about 2 years, it did make it shorter, but it was still heavy, and what's worse, the pill made it really irregular. It would just show up when ever, sometimes late sometimes really early. After I got off the pill it went back to 'normal', long, heavy, and right on time. Are then any herbal teas that might help? I've tried red raspberry, but that's hard to get down without a lot of sugar, it didn't really seem to help much with flow or time length, just cramps. I remember when I still lived with my parents, my mom and I were like clock work, I almost felt sorry for my dad! not one, but two moody women in a small house! hah! Good times, good times....

Honestly, I don't know of anything that will lessen the flow. Most herbs help with the cramps or bloating or whatever.

I cannot find my herbal bible right now but I promise as soon as I do I will erase this post and put one up of all the herbs that could help
-CHL

Well, I cannot erase this, for some reason maybe for fatigue I cannot find the "delete" button, but, meh, here it stays. I fulfilled the other part of my promise, anyway.

THANKS guys!!!! I appreciate all your help!! Crazy Healer Lady, what herbal book do you use? I'm currently using The New Healing Herbs published in 2001 and a much older Todays Herbal Health from the early 70's. Any recommendations? Coffee is suppose to help make a period normal, but only after more than 2 cups and I already don't sleep much, it's 1:30 in the morning here now. Has any one used Chaste Tree tea?

Sounds to me like that pill medication was not the right kind for you. The pill is supposed to make it regular, because you have certain days of placebo pills, with no meds whatsoever, and those are the days when you have your period. Also, it doesn't sound like your doctor knows a whole lot about this stuff. Granted, I don't either, cuz I'm not a gyno, but I do know that you can get different meds for the pill, and that each one is going to affect the body differently, and you can get the placebo pills put in the pack with any number you want. So say you want your period for four days, you get four placebo pills. If you like the six day way, you get six placebo pills. It depends on your body, how you feel, what your doctor thinks and whether or not your body responds to the pill.

Also, there is the shot which gets rid of the period totally. Now, for me, that wouldn't be a good idea, because I have a terrible fear of getting pregnant. And we all know that contraceptives are not 100% effective.

There is a new pill where you have your period four times a year. Still not good for me with the fear of getting pregnant, but hey, if I needed the pill to get rid of my periods, I'd just not have sex, lol. By the way, still not having sex till marriage.

Dunno if this has helped some with the prescription side. I don't know if there are any herbs or anything out there to help.

Best of luck, as I'd not wish your circumstances on any woman. Men on the other hand..... lol. For one month, I'd like to see some of them deal with it.
