Question for the Astronomer's out there...

Post by Kitsune » Tue Jan 17, 2006 3:25 pm

I was born on Dec. 29, 1979 and I just found out that it was indeed the night of winter solstice... would anyone know what the time of solstice was? Just wondering if I was actually born during solstice or just on the night of solstice. Thanks.

Sorry to disappoint you, but solstice is normally on the 21st. Occasionally it may be on the 20th or on the 22nd. The 29th seems very improbable. I'll check if I can get extaxt date and timing for you.

The local astronomer (me) agrees, it's the 21/22nd.

Sorry that was supposed to read the 22/12/79. Finger must have slipped. Thanks for the info though.

You were born in 79???!!!

Damn I am getting old. #-o

Plus doesn't the whole thing hinge on where one was born? I mean is some one is in New York, and some one in Peking, the solstice is at different tims, yes? Or is that just for star signs?

Nope. The solstice is determined by the Earth's relative position to the Sun, and nothing else.

Ok, not that I'm gonna add much, but that's pretty cool Kitsune! I was born on the spring solstice in 86, yeah I know, still young. But COOL!!!! Another solstice baby!
Maybe now you're starting to understand that while I may have been born predispositioned to be pretty batty, my parents saw to it that it was a certainty and completely unavoidable. -Me

:-o You were born in '86!!?? Me too! Sept 27.

Kistune darling I have been looking for hours online. I cannot find it  which disappoints me as I used to have a big chart for the solstice/equinox times for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002

Wouldn't that be spring equinox, not spring solstice? Anyways though, that's just cool. I've never met anyone else born on the Solstice or Equinoxes. What other birthdays do we have here? And does anyone hold to the "born to it" theory? I have had my astrology read, and the guy said that my chart was certainly one of the most interesting charts he'd seen in a while. Everything he said came true (at least that I remember). It was very interesting. I wouldn't mind having it done again in a year or so.

Well I was born October 15th, 1981 I am definitely a Libra in every sense of the word, I don't know too much about it though, I think I would like to have a good horoscope done for me some day.
Although in the Chinese Calendar I am about as un-rooster as you can get, interesting nonetheless.

May 20, 1987. I landed on the cusp of Taurus and Gemini, though technically Gemini. I have enough of both. Which means I got strange dedencys. How do two bulled headed twins get along anyway?

CHL, wow, my birthday is September 28th, but I was born in '83. Funny, I always got the impression you were older than me, lol.

I think I may be getting one of those weird tangent moments, but I was just about to say "Kelreth, you're so young!" when I realised you're almost 19.

Not exactly a wee tacker.

Is it really stupid to feel a bit old when you're 24?
