Poem: Raven Hex

Post by runewulf » Tue May 05, 2009 7:30 pm

Totally off the cuff, spur of the moment... still a little rough, but it was time to put out something new.

Raven Hex
by Rune Wulfsong 05-05-2009

Wandering together through the deep evening fog,
mists creeping all around and through the night.
Looking forth I see glints of silver red,
her hair glowing in the moon's soft light.

Her face turns round and looks upon me,
softly caressed by soft starlight.
Her eyes so deep and soulful,
hiding so much deep insight.

A soft flame's light glints deep,
within her rich brown eyes.
Bringing forth sweet longings,
the Goddess in her eyes.

Rich full lips curve upwards,
a gentle smile shown.
So easily lost within them,
led in directions all her own.

Like the raven this woman leads,
into the heart's many mysteries.
A hex she casts upon you,
your own dark fantasies.

Interesting! If you don't mind a question, what was your inspiration? :-D

a scene, a young woman with pale skin, deep brown eyes and brown hair with red highlights outside on a moonlit, foggy night. Like I said, still rough, they usually are if I write while I have a migraine, but that's what drove the idea.

Thank you. For some reason, I've always felt just as entranced by the idea behind the poem or book, as I am about the writing itself.

I can understand that... I've always wondered what exactly inspired Poe to write the Raven, lol.... among other things.

I like it!
