Boredom and Inspiration

Post by Mahala » Fri Aug 10, 2007 9:08 am

I've decided to try my self at riddles.

Darkest ebony is my neck
I sing like a songbird when you tickle me
But be careful not to wreck
when you are warming up.
Who am I?

(I know, kinda dumb. I've never been one for rhymes.)

I can fly but I have no wings.
I can pull heavy things.
I can talk without speaking.
I am big, but gentle.
I am wild inside my heart, but I was born to serve my owner faithfully.
Who am I?

(^Hint: If you think you know lots about me, you should get this one...)

Answer this question:
Who are you? (Your name is unacceptable.)

The first is a guitar I believe

The second I don't know yet

The third

I am that which has eyes to see
and ears with which to listen
I am most unusual because
I use the talents I was given
I'm living in the Shadows and the Night,
Wrapped in warm darkness, safe and sure.
My Path shines by the Moon's fragile light,
It frees my Mind and keeps my Heart pure.

The first is close. It IS an instrument.

I suppose you have answered the third, because there is no one answer for all. For me, I would say I am my parent's child, a human, a person.

The second... (More hints)

I am sturdy, but fragile.
I am one of man's oldest friends, and also one of the most reverent.
I am swift and cunning, but I can be slow and steady.
I am a sacred creature to many people, and many religions.

I'm guessing a piccolo for the first one.

"If a piccolo plays in the forest and no one's around, is it still out of tune?"

For the second, I would want to say a dog, but that doesn't take the flying thing into consideration, so I don't know.

If there's no answer in the next 96 hours (2 days), I'll post answers.

Narrowing it down- First riddle
It's a string instrument. It has a certain detail specifying that in the riddle. ;)

I'll take a stab and say violin or possibly lute.

Wrapped in warm darkness, safe and sure.

It frees my Mind and keeps my Heart pure.

The second is a towell

Number three is a banister?

Number Four....ummm...a cat?

#3 would be carpet runner ?

#4 I don't know unless it has something to do with either Earth's Rotation or the phrase "Corner of the World"
