Some Desktops I've been making

Post by davisherm » Tue Mar 28, 2006 1:48 pm

I've been playing with photoshop more and more lately, and I've stumbled into an artistic style that I absolutely love.

Eventually I plan to take my own pictures and manipulate them in the same way to produce similar works, but for now, I've been using my stockpile of urban exploration pictures that I get from another forum.

Let me know what you think:

Nifty, they kind of have a "haunted" feel to them. I like! :-D

Hmm, Davish, do you know a place or website where I can get Photoshop for a really good price? I've been checking around and most places want like $350 for it at least! I know I know, computer software is always expensive, but I'd really like to get it and use it for some of my pictures.

Thanks for the comments everybody! Haunted and Cryptic are pretty much what I was going for.

Now, as far as Photoshop goes, $350 sounds to be about the going rate for it lately. You might want to look into some other programs that do the same basic things. There's Paint Shop Pro (and if you're a mac user there's The Gimp) and a few others out there.

Also, there's a much cheaper Adobe product out there; Adobe Photoshop 8CS which I believe is kind of stripped down and goes for about $100.00 last time I checked. But I could be misinformed.

Also, try checking on ebay for older versions. Photoshop 6 is fairly decent.

There's nothing wrong with being a starving artist.

It's one of my aspirations!

Here's another recent desktop.

It's called "Over and Under"

I love the last one, fantastic.

You don't necessarily have to starve to be an artist per se, just don't plan on any major purchases for the next 20 years

Take it from a freelance artist - that's a pretty good sum up ;)
