Indonesian maid spared Saudi death sentence for 'witchcraft'

An Indonesian maid sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia for witchcraft is expected to return home this week after her sentence was reduced to three months, according to Arab News. Indonesian officials as senior as the foreign minister intervened to help save Rika Mustikawati’s life after she was sentenced in 2012 for practising witchcraft on her employer’s wife. She was eventually granted a retrial, during which she was given a lighter sentence.
