BRISTOL — Tucked away atop Chippens Hill sits the Church of Eternal Light, one of the city’s most misunderstood congregations. Around 25 members of the pagan spiritualist church gathered Sunday to celebrate Lammas, or the year’s first harvest. The hour-long service concluded with a potluck meal of the season’s best. “We’re giving thanks for all the things we’ve gotten this year,” explained Reverend Pam Pelletier, one of the church’s six pastors. Because members carry different religious beliefs, their interpretations of the holiday varied. “We’re a very eclectic group; we accept all faiths,” Pelletier pointed out.
Quote of the moment:
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
